Sunday Service March 24: Flower Communion
This was a tradition begun by Czechoslovakian Unitarian Minister Norbert Capek to celebrate the beauty of diversity in nature and in the congregation. Bring a long stemmed flower to add to a common vase during this service where we will honor our founders, our volunteers, and our new members; our beloved community.

Emilie Vardaman will talk about immigration concerns in our own backyard along the southern border of Cochise County. Join us to hear more about how we can partner with Emilie as she seeks to provide relief to migrants through the two agencies she helped found. Emilie has been an activist around issues of immigration abuses since her early days in 1983 with the Sanctuary Movement. This work, and work for Central American refugees, continued in to the 1990s when she returned to the border and began her work on border issues.

Emilie became co-founder of Citizens for Border Solutions (in the late 1990s) and Humanitarian Border Solutions, a 501(c)(3) non-profit in about 2006.

Against impossible odds, one person can still make a difference. Such courage is rarely without a cost. This weekend is the Jewish celebration of Purim, which celebrates the events in the biblical book of Esther. What can we learn from Queen Esther, Dashrath Majhi, or Martha and Waitstill Sharp?
